In late 2005 I completed this project for Austin based indie hip hop group, Mike and Ike. They both had been making music since I first met them in college in 2000 but in 2004 they decided to put a formal album together, so they contacted me to do the layout. My initial idea was to have packaging tie in a bit better with the release of their first single, “Classic Sound,” which sort of encompassed the throwback sound of the project. I wanted an old picture of the Paramount Theare in Austin but wasn’t able to find any, so I just found an old black and white picture of a theater and went through and colorized it. For the inside of the booklet I used two pictures of them as a basis and created an illustration of them. I completed some other photographs for the promotion of the album and used them as a basis for the vector illustrations of the group. “Introducing” was their first, and sadly last full length album together, but I have collaborated with them on the projects they have completed separately.
